We desire that we may be affected by the gospel so that we may be effective for the gospel. We hope to create a CHRIST centered Movement here in our spiritually deprived city in order that we may share how CHRIST has redeemed us and liberated us from our sin in order that we may worship the one true GOD. We are not a social hospital seeking to make LifeSong famous. But rather we are a spiritual hospital located in a spiritually deprived city, seeking to equip our students to reach others through SERVICE and TRUTH. With that we want to strive to build DISCIPLES that live by GODS word and display humility but not lacking truth, display patience but not lacking assertiveness, in all of this in order to glorify CHRIST.Andrew LydaYouth Leaderandrewlyda@bellsouth.net(864)-542-6078

Missions Hello, my name is Andrew Lyda. I am the youth leader here at LifeSong and our vision for the youth is “to equip students to reach others through SERVICE and TRUTH. I graduated from Byrnes High School 2007 and now attend USC Upstate seeking a degree in Special Education. My heart and passion is to see youth share what Christ has done in their life to a spiritually deprived city, to bring glory to our GOD. I grew up “knowing” all about this man named Jesus. But the truth of this matter is that I never truly KNEW him, I was spiritually isolated from GOD because I did not know that this JESUS came on a rescue mission to save not just me, but all sinners. 1 Timothy 1:12-1512 I thank HIM who has given me strength, Christ Jesus our LORD, because he judged me faithful, appointing me to his service, 13 though formerly I was a blasphemer, persecutor, and insolent opponent. But I received mercy because I had acted ignorantly in unbelief, 14 and the grace of our LORD overflowed for me with the faith and love that are in CHRIST JESUS. 15 The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save SINNERS, of whom I am the FORMOST.

SMALL GROUPS I asolutely love LifeSong church. The LifeSong Church "family" is totally responsible for me becoming close to God! I finally "get it" after 53 years. God truly loves me and has always loved me. I can't wait to go to church on Sundays and I can't wait to go to my LifeSong study group. I have never felt this way about attending a church. The pastors and people are so real and loving. LifeSong Church is awesome! Penny Robinson"The greatest God filled church we have ever been apart of! Joe and Sue GarrettWe found LifeSong Church through a community outreach. Someone from the church had placed a flyer on our door. When we came we found a home and a place where we can make an impact in the community. This church is a fresh breathe and focused on others instead of ourselves. Jon and Kim AdamI am thankful and blessed that God led me to LifeSong church. The church family has been there for me in the services, counseling, and more during challenging times. No matter if the storms are raging in my life or the seas are calm I know that my church family is there to lead, guide and pray. God has a plan for me and I know that a part of it is to be at LifeSong Church. JanetBefore coming to LifeSong Church I didn't know where I fit in, but through these last 9 months of attending LifeSong I have clarity and a new direction in my life. My family and i have grown so much. We wake up early on Sunday mornings looking forward to going to church! Amy, Robert, Emily and Hannah Brooke

Let everything that has breath... Ps 150:6 Carrying out the vision... "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself." Luke 10:27 Loving the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength is a daily act of worship. At LifeSong, we believe that "worship" is more than corporately meeting and singing together. Worship is what we were created to do. It is our purpose for living.

What you need to know:All children are checked-in prior to being admitted to their ministry area. This provides our volunteers with necessary information to properly care for the child, keep accountability, and provides contact names for emergency. A card will be given to the parent that must be used to pick-up the child after service.Nursery and younger pre-school children will go to Tiny Town where they will have plenty of areas to explore and learn. During their time in Tiny Town they will be cared for by our loving nursery team. We want your child to have devoted attention to their needs so we have implemented a policy to have no more than 4 children per adult and strive to make it no more than 3 children per adult. Throughout the morning the children will hear praise songs and scripture Truths as well as participating in learning activities. Older children ( 3 years +) will begin their Sunday morining by getting a snack from the KidZ Cafe and then joining their friends for fellowship. KidZ fellowship usually involves sliding, coloring, playing dodge ball or just hanging out at the clubhouse.Next, they will participate in large group worship where they will sing praise and worship songs (similar to the ones in the adult worship service), then Pastor Allan will preach a sermon-ette. The sermon's are Christ-centered and explain the great and mighty works of the Lord. Finally, the children will break out into age-appropriate small groups. In these groups they will work on memorizing different passages of the Bible. This work is self-paced and the child will be given a book (currently we are using curriculum from AWANA) that they can take home and study scriptures. As the child progresses through the book they will receive awards and points. The points can be used to buy items from the AWANA Store. Our goal is for you to be confident that your children are in a safe, caring, exciting environment and they are learning the basics of Faith in Jesus Christ. Thank you for your confidence and please provide feedback to Pastor Allan regarding any situation you may encounter.God Bless and hope to see you soon,LifeSong KidZ

As pastor of families I seek the Lord's direction for the ministries of our Children, Youth, Women's & Men's Ministry and the Senior Adults. The LORD has impressed in my heart His desire for us to Love Him and Love One Another as we live the life He has set before us together. I was raised in the mountains of California, then a few years in Dallas Texas. Spent a couple of years in the U.S. Army and 8 in the SC National Guard. After moving to SC I met the love of my life, my soul-mate, Debbie. We married on Aug 6, 1988. The Lord has blessed us with 2 wonderful daughters; Erin and Alaina. I was able to attend college and graduated from Limestone College and am currently working on finishing my Masters of Christian Education at Covington Theological Seminary. In addition to serving on staff at LifeSong I am also a Science Teacher at Blacksburg High School. The Lord has allowed us to serve Him in many ways throughout the years but in August, 2001 I began to serve Him in vocational Ministry as a Youth Pastor and was ordained in November, 2005. Debbie and I love to see God transform the hearts and lives of people and grow them in their Faith just as He does in our own family. God Bless.

Come Partner With Us I am the administrative assistant here at LifeSong Church. My husband, Dan and I have been married for 26 years. We have three sons, a lovely daughter-in-law and a beautiful granddaughter.I am a Christ follower, not so good at times, but getting there with His help. I love serving here and watching the Lord move in the hearts of the people to become a Luke 10:27 church.

About the Bible The Bible is God’s Word to all humanity. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is verbally inspired by God, it is truth without any mixture of error.About God God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He is holy, self-existent, and eternally self-revealing in three distinct persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.About the Holy Spirit The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation sealing them as part of the family of God. He provides the Christian with power for spiritual living and growth, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right and spiritual gifts for ministry in the body. Each believer should seek to live under His control daily. We hold to a non-charasmatic view in regards to spiritual gifts (gifts of apostle, prophecy, tongues, interpretation, healings, miracles, discerning spirits, word of wisdom, word of knowledge were validating "sign" gifts that ceased upon the completion of the New Testament)About Humanity Humans were made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. Humans are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although people have tremendous potential for good, we are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called sin. This attitude separates human beings from God and they have no ability to remedy this situation outside of Jesus ChristAbout Eternity Human beings were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God in Hell because of the sin of rejecting Jesus Christ or in union with God in Heaven because we have received forgiveness and salvation by trusting Jesus as our Savior. Heaven and Hell are the only places of eternal existence.About Jesus Christ Jesus Christ is the Son of God, was born of a virgin and is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice and substitute for the sins for all humanity by shedding His blood and dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death and God’s acceptance of His sacrifice. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again to take his family to heaven. Then at the end of the Tribulation He will return to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.About Salvation Salvation is a gracious gift from God to humanity. Human beings can never make up for their sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by repentance toward God and faith in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can people be saved from sin’s penalty and have a place in God’s family. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into their life by faith.About Eternal Security Because God gives those who sincerely repent and believe eternal life through Jesus Christ, the believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives this security.About the Church The Church is the body of Jesus Christ who is its head. The Local Church is a fellowship of baptized believers, gathering together in a certain locality, bound by a covenant of commitment to common beliefs, to glorify Jesus Christ in worship, spiritual growth, and in evangelistic effort to proclaim God’s love in Jesus Christ. The Lord has given the Church two ordnances, the immersion of each believer in water (Baptism) as a symbol of their identification with Jesus Christ as Savior, and the Lord’s Supper which is a symbol of the sinless life and sacrificial, blood-atoning death of Jesus Christ.About Evangelism It is the responsibility and obligation of all believers to be witnesses to the grace of God and the Lord Jesus Christ in every area of our life, actions, attitudes and words. It is the corporate responsibility and obligation of believers through their local church to proclaim the Gospel around the world by going and sending… going ourselves to those who have not believed the Gospel and sending others through financial and prayer support.

We believe in certain foundational truths found in the Bible that are the pillars of Christianity.

Our Commitment

We believe that God has called believers to life in community and that means a call to commitment.

We attempt to provide a worship atmosphere blending traditional and contemporary, giving creative and credible opportunities for people to begin a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, grow in that relationship through a caring community of faith, and reach out to others with the truth and love of Jesus in a way that expresses who God made them to be.

View Larger Map Thousands of years ago, Jesus began calling people to begin a spiritual journey by following him. He offered something much more powerful and transforming than just making a living. He offered a way of life -- a way of living and being, a way of believing and serving, a way of connecting with ourselves, other people, and with God. Jesus offered all this, and He offered himself. Those first followers of Jesus had no idea where their journey would take them. They could never have guessed the enormity of this new beginning -- yet they did have a sense that this was the thing for which they had hungered all their lives. Completely clueless about what the future would hold if they dared follow Jesus, they dared to follow Jesus anyway -- and invited their closest friends and family to follow too.Like those first followers, you too may have hungered for something all your life. You do not know where such a spiritual journey may ultimately lead -- yet you may sense that there is a Power greater than yourself, a Power that leads to New Beginnings, a Power that calls us to Life, a Power that transforms the human soul. That Power is God -- who came among us as one of us, in Jesus Christ. If you are curious about what such a journey might mean for your life or, if you have already begun that spiritual journey, we would like to assist you in Building Your Life and the Lives of Your Family and Friends. Join us this Sunday or contact us for a personal appointment.

Helping Hands MinistryWe believe that as brothers and sisters in Christ, we are called upon to help one another. Our Helping Hands ministry was designed to assist people in our church who are facing temporary difficulties or are otherwise experiencing temporary challenges in carrying out day-to-day responsibilities. These may include situations such as a death in the family, the birth of a child, or a short-term illness or injury that prohibits a parent from caring for the household responsibilities.

What We BelieveGOD- God is the creator and ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and one God.Genesis 1:1, 26-27 ; 3:22, Psalms 90:2, Matthew 28:19, I Peter 1:2, II Corinthians 13:14MAN- Man is made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. He is the supreme object of God's creation. Although man has tremendous potential for good, he is marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called "sin". This attitude separates man from God.Genesis 1:27, Psalm 8:3-6, Isaiah 53:6a, Romans 3:23, Isaiah 59:1-2Eternity- Man was created to exist forever. He will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or in union with God, through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are places of eternal existence.John 3:16, I John 2:25; 5:11-13, Romans 6:23, Revelation 20:15Jesus Christ- Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of men by dying on the cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven's glory and will return again to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.Matthew 1:22-23, Isaiah 9:6, John 1:1-5, 14:10-30, Hebrews 4:14-15, I Corinthians 15:3-4, Romans 1:3-4, Acts 1:9-11, I Timothy 6:14-15, Titus 2:13Salvation- Salvation is a gift from God to man. Man can never make up for his sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer for forgiveness can man be saved from sin's penalty. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9, John 14:6; 1:12, Titus 3:5, Galatians 3:26, Romans 5:1Eternal Life- Because God gives man eternal life through Jesus Christ, the believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives this security.John 10:29, II Timothy 1:12, Hebrews 7:25; 10:10-14, I Peter 1:3-5The Holy Spirit- The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every believer from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right.II Corinthians 3:17, John 16:7-13; 14:16-17, Acts 1:8, I Corinthians 2:12; 3:16, Ephesians 1:13; 5:18 Galatians 5:25The Bible- The Bible is the Word of God to all men. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. because it is inspired by God, it is truth without any mixture of error.II Timothy 3:16-17, II Peter 1:20-21, II Timothy 1:13, Psalm 119:105, 160,Psalm 12:6, Proverbs 30:5
